Bird-Brained Ideas

This is our new free pattern! The frame is from Hog River and may be purchased from your local cross-stitch shop.

This pattern is a free give-away compliments of Blackbird Designs. The pattern may be used for spring or fall.
Fall's Notice, pictured on the News Page of the web site, is the same pattern done in fall colors.

The changes you need to make for fall are as follows:

Fall's Notice is done on 32ct. Ligonier Latte by R. & R. Reproductions. The frame pictured is by Hog River. Both linen and frame will be available at your local cross stitch shop.

These dear chair-back covers were made using web_charlotte_close-up_of_chair2.jpg (27498 bytes) the FRIENDSHIP HEART iron-on sampler pattern. Barb's mother cut away the words "From Me to Thee" from the transfer paper. The remaining heart transfer was ironed to the chair back fabric and stitched. We used an old linen table cloth for the chair-back covers. The covers are made like a pillowcase.

They slip over the top of the chair-back. The ruffle was made from our HIGDON CAMP ticking #1700-57 from MODA Fabrics.

A Project From The Christmas Memories Series

4thjulyquiltfullshot.jpg (15214 bytes)

Barb changed the colors of the quilt from our pattern series Christmas Memories #4 to celebrate our summer holiday! The star quilt is quick and easy to sew. The light colors lend a fresh look for a summer afternoon on the porch. Try the ice tea receipe for an added delight.

Summer Afternoon Ice Tea

1 quart boiling water
7 tea bags
10 mint stems
1 can frozen lemonade concentrate (6oz.)

Pour the boiling water over the tea bags and mint in a pitcher. Steep for 20 minutes. Remove the tea bags and mint.
Prepare the lemonade concentrate using the package directions. Add to the tea and stir well. You may add sugar to sweeten if you desire. Let stand and cool before adding ice.
